Another week down - they do sure fly by. Had a pretty good week overall, so can't complain.
I am so over the Winter weather - the wind and rain in Auckland this Winter has been awful. However, today it is a stunner - clear blue sky and no wind - just wish it would stay around a bit more as it really makes you want to go out and enjoy it.

- My late husband inspired me to start running, then cycling. I supported him through 2 successful NZ Ironman races in 2001 and 2003. Unfortunately he suffered heart problems while training for the Coast to Coast, and 10 days before this event in 2006 he suffered his second and last heart attack. I miss him dearly, but know that he is with me every minute of the day telling me to get out training, go faster, and not to complain about being tired, or it's too cold to go out running etc! He didn't accept excuses for not training. I learned a lot about training for NZ Ironman by supporting him, so now have to apply this to myself. Oh boy ... My background is some road cycling and running - but swimming is a new challenge so that will be interesting (terrifying more describes it). I have done up to 160km rides before, and run half marathons, so need to try and increase the distances a little - all with the help of my coach Tony O'Hagan who is well known in the Tri world. I have taken time out from the corporate world of shipping for a while, so do not have the excuse of not having "time" to train.
